We help schools find staff
The Teacher Network is a recruitment agency that specialises in finding staff for schools throughout South Africa. Most of our clients are independent/private schools but we also work for some top government schools.
ARE YOU A PRINCIPAL WHO NEEDS A TEACHER?
If you are a Principal looking for staff, please email us the relevant information – including the subject, grades, and starting date (or phone us on +27 82 872 4174). If the position is not a permanent post, please indicate the final day of employment. For example: Gr 10-12 English teacher needed from 1 September 2023 to 31 November 2023. Alternatively you could WhatsApp the info (including your name, position, and school) to Mary Stuart 082 872 4174. Before we commence work on an assignment, the Principal needs to sign our Terms of Business.
WHAT DOES THE SERVICE COST THE SCHOOL?
Normal teaching post in a South African school: 8% of the teacher’s Cost to Company. Other full-time posts (eg Principal, Bursar): 10% of the successful applicant’s Cost to Company. The fee is payable within seven days of commencement of employment as per the letter of appointment. Subject to the school fulfilling certain obligations, we guarantee our service for 100 days.
ARE YOU A TEACHER LOOKING FOR A NEW POSITION?
Please email us at TTN@TeacherNetwork.co.za. Attach your CV – as a Word document smaller than 1MB. You should not attach any pdf files. If you haven’t heard from us within a month, please re-send the email. Our VACANCIES page gives information about inherent minimum requirements for all vacancies and lists some of our current vacancies. The CV MAGIC page on our website was written especially for teachers, and you may find it helpful.
WHAT DOES THE SERVICE COST THE PERSON APPLYING FOR A NEW POSITION?
It costs the applicant nothing. Charging a registration fee is considered unethical by the industry’s professional body, and is usually illegal in terms of The Skills and Development Act 97 of 1998 (Sub-regulation 8A & B) – unless the registration fee is less than R 1 (one Rand).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The language of our client schools is English, and therefore the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, and to comprehend English at mother-tongue level, is an inherent minimum requirement in all cases. CVs and emails with incorrect spelling, grammar, etc. are automatically rejected. We only consider professionally qualified SACE-registered educators who have experience in the SA education system and are legally entitled to work in South Africa. Non-South Africans/SA Residents need work permits. Unfortunately we are unable to assist you in obtaining these.
